Good morning band! First of all, huge congratulations on making it through the MPA experience. I hope you all had fun making music at a high level, and learned from the experience. I know I certainly did.
Symphonic band, your growth in the last week alone was incredible. You played with maturity and grace. The future is bright for you all as musicians!! Wind Ensemble, all I can say is wow. Your performance was stunning. You really “sparkled” and that’s for sure. I can honestly say that was the most fun I’ve ever had conducting a concert band, and in my opinion, was one of the finest performances I’ve been a part of. I mean that with 100% honesty. This MPA was a confusing one for me ratings wise. The judging panel had a very particular idea of what their “superior” should be…. That doesn’t mean you didn’t play wonderfully. Out of 27 bands, only 6 of them received an over all superior rating. That’s tough….. either way, it’s in the past and we are now moving forward to PUSHING you all musically like you’ve never been pushed before! Here’s what to expect this week before spring break. - Monday and Thursday are winter guard 2:30-5:00pm! These are the last two practices before state!! Guard, you’ve made me so proud with your independence and work ethic. What a team!! Congratulations. - No concert band rehearsals this week! - Percussion will rehearse on Wednesday 2-4pm. - Don’t forget Band trip payments! At this point, students should have paid $375. The full payment is due on April 7th! Again, The trip is May 5-7th. thanks for all you do and please let me know if you have any questions!
