We should be thankful that all of us are safe and accounted for. Thankful for the fact that things didn't unfold in the terrible ways that they could have. I'm glad that you're all safe.
With that being said, one of the best ways to move on from something like this is to get back to our established routines and direct our focus back to what we have been setting out to do - be the best band that we can be. This week, we will have normal rehearsals on Tuesday, and Thursday. We will also have our Mini Camp rehearsal this Friday, from 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM. We will be having our camp clinicians returning to offer us help and feedback before next week. Please bring everything that you would normally bring for rehearsal. Feel free to bring snacks. The band will be providing dinner. Be on the lookout for Hurricane Matthew. It is a strong category 4 hurricane at the moment, and there is a chance that it could be hitting us. Make sure you and your family prepare and secure extra water and supplies in the event that we are hit. Next Monday is the start of Homecoming week for PSLHS. Simultaneously, it will be Crown Jewel week for us. Be prepared to work hard, but more importantly, be prepared to have FUN! We will have rehearsals on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week. Wednesday, 10/12/16, will be a holiday from school, however, we will rehearsal that day from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM to make up for some lost rain time. Tuesday, 10/11/16 is going to be the day of the Homecoming parade, Jag Challenge, and School Bonfire for Homecoming. The itinerary for this day will be posted later this week. We will be picking homecoming representatives for the band this week. If you are interested, let Mr. Wiley know. We will be voting this week. Tell the people you are close with that you love them, and always remember to be thankful for life. |
